Question by Classy Mami: Where can I find what the diversity of China’s industrial base is?
I’ve looked on WorldBook and many other sites but I cannot find anything! What does the “industrial base” even mean and/or refer to? Are there other names by which I can search for it? I guess knowing what it means is important in order to search for it. If anyone can explain to me what industrial base means and where I can find it, I would greatly appreciate it.

In this context it effectively means, “What are the major industries in China?”
They include mining and ore processing (iron, steel and aluminium) ; machine building; armaments; textiles and apparel; petroleum; cement; chemicals; fertilizers; consumer products, including footwear, toys, and electronics; food processing; transportation equipment, including automobiles, rail cars and locomotives, ships, and aircraft; telecommunications equipment, commercial space launch vehicles, satellites.
As something of an aside, it’s greatly refreshing to find a student prepared to work for themselves, rather than expecting to be spoon-fed the answer.
